Almost anyone who has seen one of the James Bond movies will know that the super spy loves to play Roulette. This game is a classic which tends to be viewed as a “gentleman’s” game unlike any other. It is a true game of chance, but it doesn’t take a trip to Monaco or millions of dollars in gold to play Roulette for fun or profit.
For one thing, almost every modern online casino has a Roulette room, and almost all standard “brick and mortar” casinos do as well. The trick is to understand the different rules by which you can play Roulette. If you take a look at the table you will note that there is a grid-work of black and red boxes – this is actually called the “layout” and it is where the players lay their chips in order to make a wager. Though the layout varies according to the country in which the game is played, most casinos use the Americanized version.
The layout allows players to make inside and outside bets, 0 and 00 bets, red or black bets, odd or even bets, and more. The bets are made with special Roulette chips, and when a player is seated at the table they will tell the dealer how much they want their chips to be worth. Each player is given a different color or patterned pile of chips to allow the dealer to keep track of the wagers and who has made them.
It is also interesting to note that you cannot take a physical seat at a Roulette table (either in a live casino or online) without buying in and making bets. Once someone has laid their bets on the table the dealer says “no more bets” and spins the wheel. If the player has made a good bet, they win a prize. Prizes vary according to the choice of wager, and according to the type of layout in use.
