Do you know how to play the Roulette game? It is actually a somewhat old game with origins in the early 1800s. It came to the United States during the period of westward expansion, and found a popular home on the many luxurious riverboats heading up and down the Mississippi River. It then made its way all across the country while it was being picked up in other nations too. Today, a Roulette game exists in a few formats, but the biggest distinction is in the “layout”.
The layout is the grid of black and red squares upon which the players make their bets. In the U.S. version there are two green boxes on the outside bets area, with one containing a 0 and the other a 00. This is different from the French version which has only the single 0 option.
To play the game is actually very easy – you choose a number, place your bet on it, wait for the dealer to spin the Roulette wheel, and then see if you made the right choice. The player of any Roulette game can make as many wagers on a single spin as they would like, and not all the wagers have to be so specific.
For example, the “outside bets” allow the players to select all of the red numbers or all of the black numbers. This means that they get a fifty-fifty chance of taking a prize from the spin. This wager will not pay as much as actually selecting the precise number, but it is a fun way to make a bet on the wheel. There are “inside bets” too, and these include all of the individual numbers (known as straight up wagers), the line bets, corner bets, and more. The outside bets are the more “general” options and include odd and even, black and red, or the “dozens” which cover all of the numbers in a consecutive series of twelve.
